newshound?
The goal of the NewsHound project is to create visualizations of themes in web-based news. In particular, we are interested in finding ways to visualize changes over time and differences between geographic regions.

We have created a prototype system, BreakingStory, which provides search capabilities over a corpus of international news web site front pages, and presents the results in graphical, tabular, and text formats. Using both temporal and geographic metadata, BreakingStory provides filtering and aggregation by both facets simultaneously.

We invite you to try out BreakingStory.
