The U.S. Coast Guard´s historian office maintains a collection of historical materials that complements, and to some degree, duplicates the holdings in the National Archives. The collection consists of approximately 200,000 unique and accessible photographs and a much smaller number of historic documents, oral histories, case files, and video.
