Plus/Minus Player Evaluation
This visualization helps the coaching staff identify players with best or worst plus/minus averages for other teams.
A tree map shows multiple rectangular areas, one for each player, with areas that are proportional to the value of the plus/minus.
There are two tree maps available on the dashboard:
- On the left, one for players with positive average plus/minus.
- On the right, another tree map for players with negative plus/minus.
How to use the tree maps:
- First, choose team, year(s) and position(s) in the filters on the left hand side of the dashboard.
- Second, hover over the players to see more data in the tooltip. You can hide/show the negative tree map with the "X" button.
- You can compare the average plus/minus values for each player with the overall averages across all players for the same years shown on the lower left corner.
- IMPORTANT: You might see small areas in the treemap without a label shown. When this happens, please HOVER OVER THE AREA TO SEE THE TOOLTIP. The tooltip will contain the information for the player.
