Gender - Incidence Rate
This graph shows cancer incidence rates (of all types of cancers combined) for each year by gender. We generally see a decline in the age adjusted incidence rate between 1999 and 2019 for both genders. While the male incidence rate has consistently been higher, in recent years, the gap between the genders has gotten smaller. This could potentially be attributed to increased cancer screenings and public awareness.
An example interpretation of the data in this graph would be that in 2014, there were 495.8 total new cancer cases for every 100,000 males in the population that year.
