Age and Cancer Types - Mortality Rates

Prostate Cancer Mortality
Breast Cancer Mortality
Although the decrease in mortality rates for breast cancer was not as dropping as for other cancer types, all age groups experienced a decline from 1999 to 2019. This suggests that breast cancer may be becoming less aggressive, despite some age groups showing an increase in incidence rates.
Lung and Bronchus Cancer Mortality
Similarly to prostate cancer, the incidence rates of lung and bronchus cancer decreased in all age groups from 1999 to 2019. However, while the age group with the highest mortality rate was 75-84 at the beginning of 1999, in 2019 it shifted to the age group of 85+. Between 2006 and 2007, the mortality rate in the 85+ age group surpassed that of the 75-84 age group.
