The data we will be utilizing comes from the NCI’s SEER Program’s (Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results Program) Cancer Statistics Public Use Database. This database contains in-depth, high-quality population-based cancer incidence data on the entire United States population.
Likewise, we leveraged the United States Cancer Statistics, produced by the Center of Disease Control, pre-analyzed Data Table from 1999 to 2019 to create the majority of the visualizations. The USCS produced these data tables for the public for statistical and analysis data. The data tables contain information on incidence and mortality rates for different demographics and locations.
The cancer types included in the data are differentialed by cancer sites.
The cancer sites include the following:
- Prostate
- Female Breast
